Magnuson Grand Pioneer Inn and Suites

If you are spending a night in Escanaba, please consider this hotel! The atmosphere & staff makes you feel like you're coming home! The hotel & rooms are very clean & comfortable in everyway. They serve a very complete & beautifully done cold breakfast, with everything that is needed. The price is great also!! We were so impressed! We will be back & recommending this hotel to others! I would give it 10 stars, but they don't give that choice here

Rooms are comfortable, clean, and convenient. Staff is wonderful. The restaurant is great (come hungry)…and there are many dining options nearby. We have stayed there several times and have never been disappointed.

I was in a room that had not been renovated. It was very clean, just dated and rough around the edges. I would say the carpet was old and kinda dirty. The security chain on the door was broke. (This is a very important fix, speaking as a woman staying by herself. ) the rest of the hotel was quaint and comfortable. Staff was excellent. I started to eat at the restaurant, but the staff seemed more concerned about talking amongst themselves than serving customers. I just left without ordering. Not a deal breaker, but some customer service training might be helpful. Will stay again.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. I checked in late, and Sarah was amazing — warm, friendly, and full of great tips for a first-time visitor. Her hospitality really made a lasting impression. The guest room was a little dated in style, but it was spotless, very comfortable, and had everything I needed. I especially appreciated the heating lamp after my shower — such a thoughtful touch! The on-site restaurant was also a highlight. Cindy, my host, was charming and provided excellent service that made the meal even more enjoyable. The location is perfect — right on the main strip of a small, friendly town with everything within walking distance. The hotel also has great amenities, including a gym, pool, and restaurant, but what really sets it apart is the outstanding staff. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I’ll definitely be back!

I wish I had came here first!! I spent 3 nights in a name brand hotel and then they didn’t have the fourth night available!! I came here and the staff was so nice and when I got to my room, I was just floored! This room was absolutely beautiful! If I ever have to come back up this way, I will know 100% where to stay and the bed was so comfortable!!

Hotel was very nice. Service from time we arrived to the time we left was excellent. Will be back! Great choice if you’ve never stayed. Clean, friendly and reasonable in price. I really think if you do stay you will enjoy.

We thought the room was nice and clean except they didn’t empty one of the trash containers next to the refrigerator. We reported it and it was taken care of right away. Didn’t like the fact that they gave you one wash cloth. Had to ask for more. Was very disappointed that the breakfast was very limited and there is no place to eat. No tables and chairs in or around the lobby/breakfast area. Wasn’t pleased to have to walk up a flight of stairs to the back of the long hallway with a plate of food and our coffee. The staff was very pleasant.

Everything was perfect at the Magnuson Grand Pionner Inn and Suites in Escanaba, Michigan. The service was excellent. The restaraunt was outstanding. The rooms were idea. I give this motel five stars out of five, ten out of ten.
